“ I love the original location of Wig and Pen. Located next to Carver Hawkeye Arena, the restaurant is very busy on game day, but it's quick to get a bite to eat on regular days. I love both their Flying Tomato and Chicago Deep Dish style the best, but they do boast a thin crust option as well. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wig & Pen when I brought my daughters with me. They liked their food, too. Highly recommend. ”

“ We absolutely love Wig & Pen. It is absolutely one of the best places to eat and enjoy the company of family and friends. The food is always amazing. They have four styles of pizza. Thin crust, Flying Tomato, and Mannheim style. While their pizza is their flagship of choices. They have a bruschetta that is one of our top three. They have a great selection of items on the menu. The main thing is that unless you've been here, don't over order. Yes, you typically see everyone walking out with pizza and doggies bags. You definitely get your money's worth. The Service; Mannheim, was our waitress slammed with tables! She didn't show, though. We had a menus, and our drinks came within a minute. Our appetizers came out piping hot. She had our refills when we needed them. The Atmosphere; we were a party of five, not always easy to sit in a booth. Not at the Wig & Pen - their booths comfortably seat all of us. The layout has a lot of great spots. Overall, we have been here multiple times at various times of the day. We have always had a great time. ”

“ We went for my birthday, & ordered pizzas & appetizers. The wings are huge, & consistetly amazing (multiple visits...great each time). Baked ravioli is also delicious. Pictured is the Payton Ave sandwich & crispy perfectly seasoned fries, a meat deep dish pizza with cheese that strings for miles, & a crab rangoon pizza, also delicious. Their wheat beer was great, & Moscow mule was as well. It was a wonderful dinner. The 80's music was fun, & not too loud, which was nice. We took a pic in the phone booth outside. So fun! ”

“ Staff was helpful and very friendly. Food took a bit long to get and it was not very crowded. However we would not hesitate to go back because all of their food was very good and there are quite a bit of other menu options we eventually want to try. Photos are not great due to the lighting in the main room. ”

“ One of best restaurants in Iowa City! Very friendly staff! Nice atmosphere and vibes! I tried many dishes there such as waffle fried sweet potatoes, cheese fried potatoes, burger, deep dish pizza , thin crust pizza, fish and chips and salads and many more... the food is delicious! “ We came as a group of 17 people tonight. We mainly ordered pizza which gave us an opportunity to try a lot of different kinds. They have so many unique pizzas. The mediums were much bigger than I anticipated. We were all stuffed by the time we left. We had the best waitress in the world! Elleigh did such a good job waiting on a table with 17 people! She was so patient with us as we were all busy talking and often ignored her as she was trying to take her orders. Some waitresses may have got frustrated, but Elleigh Was upbeat and positive the whole night. She was so good to refill our drinks and get us anything else we needed. She even took time to take a few pictures of our group. I'm so impressed!! ”
